The doctrine of this Web Ministry is in accordance with the system commonly called “the Reformed Faith” as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith (1647) , together with the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
In summary, the chief tenets of what we believe are as follows:
The Holy Scriptures - We believe the sixty six books of the Bible to be the Word of God. We believe in the divine, verbal and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures in the original languages, their consequent inerrancy and infallibility, and as the Word of God, the Supreme and final authority in faith and life; The Bible is inerrant in that there is no error in it because God Himself is the Divine Author. The Bible is infallible in that it is incapable of error and is correct in all matters, not only of matters pertaining to salvation, but also of history, science and geography.
The Holy Trinity - We believe in one God existing in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; united in the Godhead yet executing distinct and complementary offices in the work of redemption.
God the Father – We believe that there is one, and only one, living, eternal and true God; an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the Creator and the Supreme ruler of Heaven and earth, inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all worship, honor, faith and love.
God the Son – We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, was conceived uniquely and miraculously by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is very God and very man; We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died a propitiatory and expiatory death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who repent of their sins and believe in Him are justified before God on the grounds of His shed blood; We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Jesus Christ after three days in the tomb, his ascension to Heaven, and in His exaltation at the right hand of God, where He intercedes for us as our High Priest and Advocate; We believe in the personal, visible and premillennial return of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to judge this world;
God the Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, that he bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in preaching and in testimony; that He is the agent of regeneration; that He dwells in every believer from the moment of his conversion to guide, instruct and empower so that as control is yielded to Christ, there is evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit through their godly living and service.
Salvation - We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not by works, and that all who repent and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become the children of God;
Man – We believe that man was created in the image of God, but sinned through the fall of Adam, thereby incurring not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and become sinners in thought, word and deed; sinful and depraved man therefore cannot of his own will seek after God.
Election – We believe that election is the eternal act of God’s sovereign grace by which He chooses, calls, justifies and glorifies sinners; that it is effected by the Holy Spirit through God’s Word drawing sinners to Christ so that their wills are brought into compliance with God’s elective purpose. The elect will therefore heed this irresistible call to repentance and be saved. The sinner is saved by the effectual atoning work of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells the child of God and secures and preserves his salvation to the end.
Resurrection of the dead – We believe in the eternal security, bodily resurrection and eternal blessedness of the saved, and in the bodily resurrection and eternal conscious punishment of the lost;
Biblical Separation – We believe in the spiritual unity in Christ of all redeemed by His precious blood but also in the necessity of faithfully maintaining the purity of the Church in doctrine and life according to the Word of God.
We believe in the believer’s personal separation from all worldliness and sinful activities. We believe in the principle and practice of biblical separation from the present day apostasies of the Ecumenical Movement, Charismatism, Liberalism, spiritual compromise and other worldly philosophies.
