Iglesia ni Manalo - A Masonic New World Order Cult in South East Asia.

Romanism arrived in the so-called Philippines of Roman Catholic Conquest during the second conquest after the Portuguese "conquestador" Ferdinand Magellan was killed by Datu Lapu-Lapu in the battle of Mactan. It was the Spanish "conquestador" Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and his company of six Augustinian Roman Catholic Priests (FRIARS) who initiated the convertions of the locals into Romanism. It was said to be that  Andrés de Urdaneta lead the decepetions using false Gospel in converting the natives in Cebu, Samar and Bohol islands which gave way to friendship of the the returning foreign invaders. Deceptions was used by friars that gave way to a blood compact as the foreigners progressively deceived and influenced the locals to side with them and invade neigbouring balangays and towns. This was the beginning of the reign of Rome's power through the Spanish Colonizers to subdue the Malayan islands and the rest of the world to pursue their Satanic plan of a One World Government and religion, and of course the Pope as its spiritual head.

For 400 years approximately the Malayan Islands who is now known as the Philippines became a Masonic Republic after an orchestrated revolution by Illuminati Freemasons with a black flag "Skull n Bones" and Freemasonry symbolisms. The First President of the Philippines was Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, a known Luciferian Freemason who was helped by the United States of America to come into power after swearing an allegiance to United States of America in return for the peace declaration he made after being captured by the Americans. This was the beginning of Emilio Aguinaldo's Masonic Government with the helped of Pres. William McKinley who was later assassinated by the Jesuit Illuminati I believe because of gold control in the Spanish and New World-USA teritorries.

In the Philippines, by the year 1914 Iglesia Ni Cristo was registered then proclaimed itself to be the one true church and claims that it is the restoration of the original church founded by Jesus and that all other Christian churches, including the Roman Catholic Church, are apostates. This is the beginnings of the 20th Century Masonic Philippines as part of the New World Order with the support of Masonic American Government who then promoting freedom of religion in the U.S.A. as part of their agenda for a New World Order. Pres. William McKinley, the twenty-fifth President of USA was a freemason. He was initiated May 1, 1865 in Hiram Lodge No. 21, Winchester, Virginia. A Luciferian who helped the Philippines become a stronghold of the New World Order in the Asia-Pacific region. Iglesia ni Manalo with its Masonic symbolism is obviously a Cult that is part of the New World Order Masonic Jesuit illuminati cults. The below article will give us more details about Iglesia ni Manalo as a cult.

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. - 2 Jn.1:7 KJV

WARNING: This post contains material that is for mature adults only.

We recently returned from a West Coast trip and while travelling I spotted a logo on what I thought was a Mormon temple. I wanted to get a better look at it because it was an obvious masonic compass and square. Upon examination I found the church to be called "Iglesia Ni Cristo." I thought that it was Spanish, but upon looking into it I learned that Iglesia Ni Cristo was started in the Philippines and has since spread around the world and has a current membership on a par with the Mormons. The name Iglesia Ni Christo means Church of Christ.

This post shall begin with some of the core teachings of Iglesia Ni Cristo and then we will take up a detailed analysis of the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo.

The Trinity

Christ and the Apostles are united in teaching how many and who is the real God. Similar to other true Christians, according to Apostle Paul, there is only one God, the Father—not the Son and more so not the Holy Spirit. The Apostles also did not teach that there is one God who has three personas who are also Gods. ... It [Trinity] is not found in the Holy Scriptures or the Bible, and if [Catholic] priests ever use the Bible to prove this teaching of theirs, all are based only on suppositions and presumptions. source: Iglesia Ni Cristo  translated from Pasugo (November 1968)
"...there is only one God, the Father—not the Son and more so not the Holy Spirit....It [Trinity] is not found in the Holy Scriptures or the Bible..."  -anyone who owns a Bible and can read will be able to easily disprove these false statements of Iglesia Ni Cristo. You are commanded to search the scripture. You are also commanded to study to show thyself approved that you need not be ashamed. You are also commanded to test the spirits of those who would be your teachers. The membership of Iglesia Ni Cristo fail miserably on all accounts.

This is what the Scriptures say if they would bother to look:

God the Father gave all things to his coequal, Jesus Christ:

John 5:22  For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

Those who honor not the Son have NO HONOR toward the Father either:

John 5:23  That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

Jesus Christ was co-creator of all things:

John 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  The same was in the beginning with God. 3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The co-creator of all things, JESUS CHRIST,  dwelt with man in the flesh:

John 1: 14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus Christ is distinct from his Father, yet they are one. This looks like a contradiction to those who are in the flesh, which is why they stumble over it:

John 10:30  I and my Father are one.

Jesus, the Spirit of God and God the Father are three distinct persons:

Matthew 3:16  And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17  And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

There are THREE members of the Godhead:

1 Timothy 3:16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

What Timothy is talking about in the verse above is exactly what we speak of now.  "without controversy great is the mystery of godliness" - In other words, everyone agreed that there was a great mystery in the nature of God: how that he was manifest in the flesh and how that he was evinced in his spirit. The Spirit and the Son of God ARE GOD.

The Apostles recognized the triune nature of God:

Matthew 28:19  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

According to Iglesia Ni Cristo, "It [Trinity] is not found in the Holy Scriptures or the Bible..." Then what is this:

1 John 5:7  For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Iglesia Ni Cristo teaches the Mormon doctrine of Christ being a created being:

The church believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the mediator between God the Father and humanity, and was created by God the Father. source: Iglesia Ni Cristo

This statement of Iglesia Ni Cristo (and the Mormons) reveals that they truly do teach falsely. When Jesus Christ came into the world  to live and eventually die for the world he was "made" for that purpose:

Hebrews 2;9  But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

But these people stumble horribly over the truth. Jesus' life and existence did not begin at his conception. Jesus was in the beginning and has always been:

John 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  The same was in the beginning with God. 3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 1: 14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Ephesians 3:9  And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.

ALL things were made by THE WORD and the WORD is the SON and "without him was not any thing made that was made." So to say that he (Jesus) who made all things was made when John 1:3 says that nothing that was made was made without him MAKES Iglesia Ni Cristo (and the Mormons) false teachers. Jesus Christ was a party to his own incarnation into this world. 1 John 5:7 states that the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost are one. All three are God and God has no beginning and no end. As Timothy said, it is a mystery. This means that God reveals it to his own and conceals it from the tares who stumble.

The Church

They believe that the Iglesia Ni Cristo is the fulfilment of the passage above while "east" refers to the Philippines where the Church of Christ would be founded. source:Iglesia Ni Cristo

This false teaching of Iglesia Ni Cristo is based upon Isaiah 43:5:

Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west...

But who is God speaking to in this verse? Is it the Philippines? Is it China? Is it Hawaii? Fiji perhaps? Let's just make it whatever we need to make it in order to support our cult. No, God is speaking to Jacob, which is Israel. Verse 1 of Isaiah chapter 43:

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

As C.H. Spurgeon once said, "a text without a context is a pretext" and Iglesia Ni Cristo seems to be in no short supply of those.

The INC teaches that its members constitute the "elect of God" and there is no salvation outside the Iglesia ni Cristo. Faith alone is insufficient for salvation. source:Iglesia Ni Cristo

Only a poor student of the Bible cannot see past this whopper. Did the thief on the cross attend Iglesia Ni Cristo? Was no one saved in the intervening ages? They actually teach that you must attend Iglesia Ni Cristo to be saved. And it should also be noted that to build such an important doctrine upon a single verse of utterly vague application to the point lays bare the deception.

I do not believe that it would be productive to debate with people that teach such things, as it is apparent to me that such organizations are set up for the sole purpose of financial gain and to spread false teaching to prepare the world for Antichrist. They have everything to lose by backing down and their false doctrine has been carefully formulated to ensnare the ignorant, so to change it would mean to risk losing control of the golden geese. Therefore it does not matter how elegant and compelling your arguments might be, such organizations will fight to protect their gold and their hidden agenda.

The Symbol of Iglesia Ni Cristo

iglesia ni christo

The Iglesia Ni Cristo logo is the most heavily occult device that I have observed so far. It is so occult that it isn't. You would think that they jumped the shark, but actually it stands as a testament to "STRONG DELUSION," as millions of people worldwide faithfully believe that Iglesia Ni Cristo is Christian in spite of the fact that Iglesia Ni Cristo boldly proclaims that it is Antichrist by placing this monstrosity on all of its churches.

Many bloggers and others have pointed out the masonic compass and square that are present in the center of the logo:

iglesia ni christo compass & square

However, you will notice that within the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo there is a scale attached to the top of the compass and between the arms of the compass there is a lamb resting atop a book of what looks like several scrolls. These objects provide a definitive and unquestionable connection between this logo and the Scottish Rite 17th Degree "Knight of the East and West":

[caption id="attachment_2160" align="aligncenter" width="702"]17DEGREE 17th Degree "Knight of the East and West"[/caption]

17th Degree – “Knight of the East and West”“The jewel is a heptagonal (seven-sided) medal, half gold and half silver or mother of pearl. These two colors are emblems of the sun and moon, themselves symbols of the Egyptian deities Osiris and Isis, who represent the generative and productive powers of nature, illustrated in Masonic Symbolism by the columns Jachin and Boaz as the active and passive forces manifested in nature (Morals and Dogma, p. 202). On one side are engraved, at the angles, the same letters as are on the capitals of the columns in the ceremony and possessing the same meaning, that of the last seven of the Sephiroth of the Kabalah. A star is over each. In the center, on the same side, is a lamb, lying on a book with seven seals, on which seals are, respectively, the same letters, though shown in this representation as the Roman equivalents. On the reverse side are two crossed swords, points upward; their hilts rest on an even balance. In the corners are the initials in Greek of the names of the Seven Churches (Revelation 2 and 3).  source: Scottish Rite 17th Degree

...the Masonic author of the authoritative Richardson's Monitor of Freemasonry, no doubt lets the cat out of the bag, so to speak, by detailing how, during this ritual ceremony for the Degree of Knight of the East and West, the Sacred Word is given to the assembled members of the Lodge. That sacred word is a shocker: It is Abaddon. Yes, Abaddon is the Sacred Word for the Masonic Knights of East and West. And the Holy Bible reveals exactly who Abaddon is in Revelation 9:11:

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

In Richardson's Monitor of Freemasonry, it is revealed that, following the announcement of the sacred word, Abaddon, the Lodge drama for this fateful degree provides a demonstration 'intended to represent the end of the world'. (Marrs, Codex Magica, page 207) What symbol does Texe show to represent the Knights of East and West? A Skull & Crossbones! And, of course, the crossed bones represent an "X"! source: 17th Degree Knights of the East and West

There is really no denying that the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo is taken directly from the 17th Degree:

Iglesia Ni Cristo Masonic 17th Degree

This also reveals that Iglesia Ni Cristo has a hidden agenda that involves the Antichrist and the end times. They picked the 17th Degree for a reason. The sacred word of the 17th Degree is Abaddon whom Revelation 9:11 tells us is Apollyon, the destroyer. That is what all of this is about. All of the 911, Freemason, false church cult business boils down to Antichrist.

Iglesia Ni Cristo sacrificial lamb VS 17TH DEGREE

Notice that in the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo the scrolls are all dishevelled. Even the masonic medal showed very clearly that there are seven seals. This signifies the fact that Iglesia Ni Cristo's role is as an agent of confusion within a masonic context.

The Lamb of God, Jesus, is associated with the seals in Revelation. Within the Iglesia Ni Cristo symbol the lamb is oblivious that it has been placed in a magic triangle as a sacrifice, so it makes a good analogy for those who attend Iglesia Ni Cristo. If the lamb was wise it would open and study its Bible, but it seems content to lay down on it and trust false teachers to interpret Scripture. Being ignorant of Christ it will be sacrificed to Antichrist. The occult symbolism of sacrifice is clear:

Iglesia Ni Cristo sacrificial lamb

Aleister Crowley, in Magick in Theory and Practice, said that "The ethics of the thing [blood sacrifice] appear to have concerned no one; nor, to tell the truth, need they do so." "Crowley sacrificed animals and fowl in his rituals within a MAGICK CIRCLE or MAGICK TRIANGLE, which prevented the energy from escaping. He condemned the practice of torturing the animal first to obtain an elemental slave, calling it "indefensible, utterly black magick of the very worst kind." However, he said that there was no objection to such black magic if it was "properly understood." source: Rosemary Guiley, The Encyclopedia of Magic and Alchemy  (p. 282)

At the top of the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo you will find the winged disk from Ancient Egypt, Assyria and Babylon:

Iglesia Ni Cristo winged disk

The green, white and red shield conceals the face of the satanic god to whom the Hebrews would offer their children as a burnt offering. The designer of this gauche device made a pun in giving the owl known as Moloch (and as seen at Bohemian Grove) scales for eyes:

Iglesia Ni Cristo Moloch Owl

The colors present in the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo hint toward a connection to the Italian (home to the Vatican) flag with the red, green and white owl-faced shield. The odd double-lobed (like a human bottom) golden sunburst at the top and the golden scroll at the bottom point to the Vatican City flag:

Iglesia Ni Cristo reveals its Illuminati connection with the torch. The torch is a symbol of that moment when Eve received illicit knowledge from the serpent:

[caption id="attachment_2167" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Prometheus in Rockefeller Center versus the Iglesia Ni Cristo torch Prometheus in Rockefeller Center versus the Iglesia Ni Cristo torch[/caption]

The allegory of Prometheus, who steals the divine fire as to allow men to proceed consciously on the path of spiritual evolution, thus transforming the most perfect of animals on Earth into a potential god, and making him free to take the kingdom of heaven by violence.  Hence also, the curse pronounced by Zeus against Prometheus, and by Jehovah against his ‘rebellious son,’ Satan. source: H.P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine v. II (p. 244)

Thus Lucifer – the spirit of Intellectual Enlightenment and Freedom of Thought – is metaphorically the guiding beacon, which helps man to find his way through the rocks and sand banks of Life, for Lucifer is the Logos in his highest. source: H.P. Blavatsky,The Secret Doctrine v. II (p. 162)

Lucifer, the Light-bearer! Strange and mysterious name to give to the Spirit of Darkness!  Lucifer, the Son of the Morning!  Is it he who bears the Light, and with its splendors intolerable, blinds feeble, sensual, or selfish souls? Doubt it not! source: Albert Pike,  Morals and Dogma (p. 321)

The evidence I have seen in both the doctrine and symbols of Iglesia Ni Cristo tell me that someone who had a key role in its creation at the very least wanted to portray that they had ties to the occult and the Illuminati. From the apparent power of the group it seems that there is a measure of genuine Illuminati influence.

There are just a couple of congruences between the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo and the Ecclesia Gnostica logo:

Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica (E.G.C.), or the Gnostic Catholic Church, is the ecclesiastical arm of the Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.), an international fraternal initiatory organization devoted to promulgating the Law of Thelema.

The chief function of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica is the public and private performance of the Gnostic Mass (Liber XV), a eucharistic ritual written by Crowley in 1913.

About the Gnostic Mass, Crowley wrote in The Confessions of Aleister Crowley, "... the Ritual of the Gnostic Catholic Church ... I prepared for the use of the O.T.O., the central ceremony of its public and private celebration, corresponding to the Mass of the Roman Catholic Church." source: Gnostic Catholic Church of the O.T.O

However, there are too many common elements between the Iglesia Ni Cristo logo and the O.T.O. Lamen for the occurrence to be mere random chance:

Iglesia Ni Cristo OTO Lamen

What we must understand about the O.T.O. Lamen and all of these other images that seem to have copied it is that they all have their source in the legend of the Holy Grail. Those who hate Jesus began spreading the lie that Jesus did not die on the cross nor was he ever raised from the dead. The lie they tell is that Jesus had a sexual relationship with Mary Magdalene. The Grail myth represents the physical union of Jesus and Mary. Within the context of this myth various objects have been used to represent the sexual union.

The Cup

Both the chalice/cup and the inverted triangle may be used to represent the vulva of Mary, which they call the Holy Grail:

This inverted triangle is also the figure of the heart and the cup, to which the heart is generally assimilated in symbolism, as we have shown in connection with the Holy Grail.  source: René Guénon, Fundamental Symbols: The Universal Language Of Sacred Science (p. 149)

In iconography, the heart takes on a vase-like shape, or is graphically represented as an inverted triangle, symbolizing something into which love is poured or carried; in this sense it is linked with the Holy Grail. source: Jack Tresidder, The Watkins Dictionary of Symbols

Da Vinci's The Last Supper could reflect the artist's beliefs regardnig the importance of Mary in Jesus' inner circle - that she was the wife of Jesus and was also the Holy Grail, a human chalice to contain the Savior's bloodline. source: Meera Lester, Mary Magdalene: The Modern Guide to the Bible's Most Mysterious And Misunderstood Woman (p. 40)

The Flame

There is very little documentation available regarding an explanation of these elements, but in regard to the flame, " A Flame at the top of the Chalice is the purified fire of Will which attracts congress with the Dove" (link). These people talk in circles and use lofty language to disguise hideous acts. The "Will" that is spoken of here needs to be placed into context. Aleister Crowley organized a religion called Thelema in the early 20th century:

Thelema (/θəˈliːmə/) is a religion based on a philosophical law of the same name, which has been adopted as a central tenet by some religious organizations. The law of Thelema is "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will." The law of Thelema was developed by Aleister Crowley, the early 20th-century English writer and ceremonial magician. source: Thelema

These people do not love anything. They serve Satan and his is the only "Will" in any such organization. When they say "purified fire of Will" they are talking about the fact that they have manifested the mind of Satan in themselves. This is what attracts the "dove". The dove in Christianity is known to represent the Holy Spirit, but in Satanism this dove is the spirit of Lucifer and the spirit of destruction:

What is more absurd and more impious that to give to the Devil, that is to say to Evil personified, the name Lucifer which signifies Light-bearer?

The intellectual Lucifer is the spirit of intelligence and love; it is the Paraclete, it is the Holy Spirit, and the physical Lucifer is the great agent of Universal Magnetism. source: Eliphas Levi & Louis Constant, Paradoxes of the Highest Science (p. 90)  - To CONTINUE READING PLS CLICK HERE.

One Voice For CHANGE, A New World Order. ( The Jesuit IlluminatiVatican Conspiracy for a One World Government).

Youtube Vid: Nazi Germany - A Creation of the Roman Catholic Jesuits and Vatican

"I learned much from the Order of the Jesuits", said Hitler... "Until now, there has never been anything more grandiose, on the earth, than the hierarchical organization of the Catholic Church. I transferred much of this organization into my own party... I am going to let you in on a secret... I am founding an Order... In my "Burgs" of the Order, we will raise up a youth which will make the world tremble... Hitler then stopped, saying that he couldn't say any more.." Hermann Rauschning, former national-socialist chief of the government of Dantzig: "Hitler m'a dit", (Ed. Co-operation, Paris 1939, pp.266, 267, 273 ss).

"We have recapitulated, in this book, the main manifestations of the multiform activity deployed by the Company of Jesus, during four centuries; we have established also that the militant, even military, character of this famous and ultramontane institution fully justifies the title often attributed to it of "secret army of the Papacy". To the front of the action, for the glory of God—and especially of the Holy See—is the order these ecclesiastical soldiers gave themselves and of which they are proud; at the same time, they endeavour, through the book and pious press which they supervise, to disguise as much as possible and present as "apostolic" enterprises the action they exercise in their favourite field: the nations' politics. The clever camouflage, the protestations of innocence, the railleries about the "dark schemings" attributed to them by the disordered imagination of their enemies—and which are groundless, according to them—all this is outweighed by the unanimous hostility of public opinion towards them, always and everywhere, and by the inevitable reaction to their intrigues which brought about their explulsion from every country, even from the most strongly Catholic. These fifty-six expulsions, to quote only the main ones, provide an invincible argument! It would be sufficient to prove the evil nature of this Order. How could it not be injurious to civil societies as it is the papacy's most efficacious instrument in imposing its law on temporal governments, and that this law—by nature—has no consideration for the various national interests?

The Holy See, being essentially opportunist, does embrace these interests when they coincide with its own—we saw this happen in 1914 and 1939—but, if it brings them a substantial help then, the final result is not beneficial for all that. This was seen also in 1918 and 1945. Terrible to its enemies, or those who oppose it, the Vatican, this friends. By observing some vigilance, one can be forewarned of its underhand thrusts, but its embraces are deadly. On that subject, Mr. T. Jung wrote, in 1874, the following lines which have not grown old-'The power of France is in inverse ratio to the intensity of her obedience to the Roman Curia".(l) And from a more recent witness: M. Joseph Hours, when studying the effects of our very relative "disobedience", he wrote: "There is no doubt about it; right through the continent (and maybe, today, all over the globe), wherever Catholicism is tempted to become political, it is also tempted to become anti-French".(2) A just remark indeed, even though the term "tempted" is rather weak. We will nevertheless conclude that "to obey" would be more to the point. Is it not better, in fact, to expose oneself to this hositlity, rather than to have to come to this conclusion, like Colonel Beck, former Foreign Affairs minister of the very Catholic Poland (2a)".  "The Vatican is one of those principally responsible for the tragedy of my country. I realised too late that we had pursued our foreign politics just to serve the sole interests of the Catholic Church". Moreover, the fate of the very apostolic empire of the Hapsburgs was not too encouraging; as for Germany, so dear to the hearts of popes, and especially Pius XII's, she could not be pleased, finally, with the costly favours Their Holiness lavished on her. In fact, we wonder if the Roman Church reaped any profit at all from this mad aspiration to govern the world, a pretension kept alive by the Jesuits more than anyone else. In the course of four centuries in which these firebrands spread strife and hatred, slaughter and ruins in Europe, from the Thirty Years War until the Hitler Crusade, did the Church enjoy gain or suffer loss? The answer is easy: the clearest and most incontestable result is a continuous diminution of the "heritage of Saint-Peter"—a sad end to so many crimes! Did the Jesuits' influence obtain better results within the Vatican itself? It is very doubtful. A catholic author wrote: "They always aim at concentrating the ecclesiastical  power which they control. The pope's infallibility exasperates bishops and governments: they nevertheless ask for it at the Council of Trent and obtain it at the Vatican Council (1870)... The Company's prestige fascinates, within the Church, its adversaries as much as its friends. We have respect or, at least, we fear it; we think it can do anything, and we behave accordingly".(3) Another catholic writer strongly stated the effects of this concentration of power in the Pontiffs hands: "The Society of Jesus was suspicious of life, the source of heresy, and opposed authority to it.

The Council of Trent seems already to be the testament of Catholicism. It is the last genuine Council. "After that, there will only be the Vatican Council which consecrates the abdication of the councils. We are well aware of the popes' gain at the end of the councils. What a simplification—what an impoverishment also! Roman Christianity takes possession of its character of absolute monarchy, founded now and forever on papal infallibility. The picture is beautiful but life bears its costs. Everything comes from Rome, and Rome is left to lean only on Rome".(4) Further on, the author sums up what the famous Company must be credited for: "It delayed maybe the death of the Church, but by a kind of pact with death".(5) A kind of sclerosis, if not necrosis, is spreading and corrupting the Church, under that Loyolan ascendancy. Vigilant guardians of the dogma, whose antiquated character they accentuate with their aberrant worship of the Virgin Mary, the Jesuits, masters of the Gregorian Pontifical University which was founded by Ignatius of Loyola, check the teaching of the seminaries, supervise the Missions, reign at the Holy-Office, animate the Catholic Action, censure and direct the religious press in every country, patronize with tender love the great centres of pilgrimages: Lourdes, Lisieux, Fatima, etc. In short, they are everywhere, and we can regard as significant the fact that the pope, when ministering at the mass, is necessarily assisted by a Jesuit; his confessor is always a Jesuit, too. By working at perfecting the concentration of power in the hands of the Sovereign Pontiff, the Company is in fact working for itself and the pope, apparent beneficiary of that work, could echo these famous words: "I am their chief, so I follow them". So, it becomes more and more hopeless trying to distinguish the action of the Holy See from the one of the Company. But this Order,  the very back bone ofthe Church, tends to dominate her entirely. For a long time now, the bishops have been nothing more than "civil servants", docile executors of the orders coming from Rome, or rather from the Gesu." --- (Partly taken from the Conclusion of the Book entitled: THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE JESUITS by Edmond Paris Pls Click HERE to read the whole eBook in pdf format Adobe acrobat maybe needed to read the file.)

Does the Catholic Church Protect Pedophiles?

The Catholic Church may be protecting pedophiles as evidence has surfaced of another child sex abuse scandal within the church where an archbishop was caught withholding information from police in order to protect a priest who was being sued on multiple counts of abuse. The L.A. Archdiocese ended up reaching a multi-million dollar settlement with the alleged victims bringing their grand total for these types of settlements to $700 million since 2006. Elliot Hill and Lissette Padilla discuss how the church is being accused of encouraging perversion and also covering it up, in this clip from the Lip News.

Priesthood Pedophilia Exposing Unbiblical Catholic Doctrine (Taken from Issue Date: January/February 2002

In January the Vatican issued new rules dealing with priests who abuse children. After years of trying to leave the problem in the lap of the local dioceses, the pope has now ordered church officials worldwide to immediately report such cases to the Vatican.

Dozens of lawsuits have been filed in the last 20 years by parents of abused children, and by adults, who claim they were molested as youngsters. Many victims claimed that their accusations were met with stonewalling by church officials who often simply moved the offending priest to another parish where he continued victimizing others.

If the priest was removed from ministry, he was often sent on retreat for therapy and soon restored to ministry, sometimes again working with children.

Finally, church officials could no longer deny the problem. One of the first cases that garnered extensive media exposure occurred in Louisiana in 1985. Priest Gilbert Gauthe pleaded guilt to sex charges involving 11 boys. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison but won early release. In 1996 he pleaded no contest to a new charge of fondling a 3-year-old boy. This time he was only sentenced to probation.

In the latest high profile case, former priest John Geoghan goes to trial this month in Massachusetts. More than 130 people have accused him of fondling or rape during the three decades he served in Boston area churches.

Eighty-four civil lawsuits have been filed against him. Archdiocese records show that he was simply moved from one parish to another even though Church leaders had evidence that he was abusing children.

Two of Rome's unbiblical teachings appear to contribute to this problem. One is the evil described in 1 Timothy 4:3, forbidding their priests to marry. The other is the temptations brought on by the confessional.

Candid histories of Roman Catholicism describe a wide variety of sexual sins by "celibate" priests. Husbands of seduced wives have resorted to violent revenge. Numerous homosexual scandals are now overshadowed by high profile convictions of pedophiles.

Catholicism attempts total control of its priests, keeping them "married to the church." This bottles up the powerful sex drive from its normal (and biblical) expression in marriage. Often it finds an outlet in some form of sexual perversion.

In England and Wales, new procedures are being adopted for confessionals. Closed stalls are being replaced with glass enclosures or open boxes. This was recommended by an independent committee commissioned to recommend counter measures to child abuse by priests.

Former priest Charles Chiniquy detailed the unhealthy relationships that developed between priests and penitents in his book, The Priest, the Woman, and the Confessional. Although divided by a thin partition, the intimacy of the discussion involves baring the soul.

To obtain full forgiveness by the priest, Catholic law requires the priest to probe for intimate details of the penitent's sin. Since many sins are sexual in nature, both parties are exposed to temptation. The priests are especially vulnerable because legitimate sex is denied them.

How can Roman Catholicism claim to be the church of Christ when they teach doctrines of men (or devils; See 1 Timothy 4:1). Like the Pharisees, they bind heavy, grievous burdens on men that they are unable to bear. (See Matt. 23.)

Priests and penitents both need to be told the Truth which will make them truly free.

Ex-priest McCormack faces new sex abuse charge in ’05 case involving boy - Updated: May 22, 2014 2:20AM - BY MITCH DUDEK Staff Reporter May 21, 2014 7:46PM

Convicted child molester and defrocked Catholic priest Daniel McCormack was charged Wednesday with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in a 2005 incident involving a minor boy, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office.
McCormack is expected to appear in bond court on the latest charges on Thursday.

He remains in custody pending a hearing on whether he is declared a sexual deviant person, according to Sally Daly, a spokeswoman with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office.

Chicago Police officers arrested McCormack at a Department of Human Services treatment facility in Rushville, Ill. — about 230 miles southwest of Chicago.

McCormack had been serving his sentence at the Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mount Sterling, Ill., until he was paroled to the Rushville facility in 2009, according to Illinois Department of Corrections spokesman Tom Shaer.

According to a source, there is an ongoing effort to have McCormack committed indefinitely to state custody under the Sexually Violent Persons Commitment Act. The next hearing on the procedure is June 12.

McCormack was originally arrested for sex crimes in January 2006. He was removed from the priesthood in November 2007 and pleaded guilty that year to abusing five children while he was a parish priest at St. Agatha on Chicago’s West Side. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

Susan Burritt, a Chicago Archdiocese spokeswoman, said she was unaware of McCormack’s most recent arrest.

“Daniel J. McCormack is no longer a priest. He was laicized in November 2007,” Burritt said in an email, using the formal term for the removal of clerical status.

Barbara Blaine, founder and president of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, issued the following statement Wednesday evening: “We are grateful for the victim and police who are working to get Fr. Daniel McCormack locked up again. He’s one of Illinois’ most egregious predator priests.”

Marist Brothers ignored this abuse. Now they face exposure

By a Broken Rites researcher (article updated 25 May 2014)

The Marist Brothers knew that Brother Kostka John Chute was a danger to boys but they continued to inflict him on new victims. In 2008 some of Brother Kostka's victims succeeded in getting him jailed for some of his crimes. And now, in June 2014, Australia's national child-abuse Royal Commission is to hold a public hearing to examine how the Marists handled (or mis-handled) Brother Kostka and another Marist Brother.

Marist Brother John William Chute (who was aged 75 when in court in 2008), was also known by his "religious" name, "Brother Kostka". He pleaded guilty in the Australian Capital Territory Magistrates Court to committing indecent acts against pupils at a Canberra school (Marist College) between 1985 and 1989 when they were aged 13 and 14.

On 22 June 2008, Kostka was sentenced to a total of six years jail, with the first two years in full-time prison, the third year to be served by weekend detention, and the remaining three years to be fully suspended.

An agreed statement of facts (submitted to the Supreme Court jointly by the prosecution and the defence) revealed that the parents of at least one victim reported Brother Kostka Chute's abuse to the Marist College headmaster in 1986, but Kostka remained at the school until the end of 1993.

And now, in 2004, victims are still tackling the trustees of the Marist Brothers for financial settlements to compensate them (partially) for the disruption that was caused to the victims' lives by the Marist Brothers action in tolerating Brother Kostka Chute.

Kostka Chute's background
Broken Rites has ascertained that John William Chute was born on 13 June 1932.

According to statements made in court, John Chute was the youngest of ten children and came from Lismore, New South Wales. In 1944, at the age of twelve, he was recruited to attend a Marist Brothers "juniorate" (a secondary boarding school for boys "aspiring" to become brothers) in Mittagong, southern New South Wales. It was there — within the Marist Brothers culture — that Chute became introduced to the Marist practice of sexual abuse in his teens, the court was told.

At the age of seventeen, he took his vows as a Marist Brother. He then adopted the name Kostka, a practice which was customary in the Marist order. (There was a "Saint Stanislaus Kostka" in the 16th century.)

It was stated in court that Kostka taught at 11 other Marist Brothers schools in Australia between 1952 and 1975 before moving to Canberra’s Marist College in 1976, where he stayed for 27 years.

The offences
At a pre-sentence hearing in the A.C.T. Supreme Court on 9 May 2008, Kostka pleaded guilty to 19 incidents of indecently touching six teenage boys between 1985 and 1989.

The 19 admitted incidents represented only a fraction of the sexual encounters he had had with the six boys, according to the agreed statement of facts. [The charges were representative of Kostka molesting some victims on a daily basis.]

The offences happened in various places around the school, including including: in Kostka's office; in his on-campus residence; in the theatrette where Kostka hosted movie nights; in a gardening shed; and even in a food van that sold pies at football games on weekends.

How the case began
Kostka was represented in court by a Sydney lawyer who frequently represents Catholic Church personnel in sex-abuse court cases. The Marist Brothers were paying for Kostka's legal costs.

Originally, in the Magistrates Court on 17 January 2008, Kostka was charged with incidents of indecency extending back to 1981. However, at a second hearing on 21 February 2008, the A.C.T. Director of Public Prosecutions dropped some of the earliest charged incidents because these incidents had allegedly happened before 1985, when charges relating to sexual indecency had to be made within a year.

The school ignored complaints
Documents tendered in court on 21 February 2008 revealed that a teacher and one headmaster at the school were told by victims that Brother Kostka had molested them, but the school allowed him to teach for several more years.

One alleged victim, whose complaint was dropped in the 21 February 2008 hearing because it related to an incident in 1981, told police in August 2007 that he had reported Kostka's assault on him to a teacher in 1986 because he was concerned that Brother Kostka was spending a lot of time with another young student. However, the teacher, John Doyle, told him the next day that "nothing was going to be done regarding his allegation and concerns".

Several years later, in the early 1990s, the alleged victim went to the school and told the then-headmaster of the assault. But when he spoke to the headmaster soon after, he was told that Brother Kostka had denied assaulting him and the investigation had been passed on to Kostka's "superiors" [that is, to fellow Marist Brothers]. The alleged victim told police he had been intent in preventing Kostka from having further contact with children. He had a meeting with a senior Marist brother, Brother Alexis Turton [who was the Australian head of the Marist Brothers from 1989 to 1995]. However, the alleged victim was merely asked "what he wanted" from the Marist Brothers, and was offered counselling.

Brother Turton later informed the alleged victim that Kostka had been moved to a Mittagong farmhouse in southern New South Wales for retired Marist brothers, the Hermitage, where he remained until his arrest in January 2008.

The alleged victim's brother went to the farmhouse in 2002 to visit another Brother, where he discovered that Brother Kostka was running a youth drop-in centre for boys.

[By 2008, Brother Alexis Turton had become the Marists' professional standards officer, with the responsibility for dealing with complaints about sexual abuse. He accompanied Kostka to court during the 2008 proceedings.]

The offences
According to court documents, victims told police that Brother Kostka would win their trust and confidence before developing a pattern of systemic abuse. Some boys were molested on a daily basis over more than a year. Kostka would often put his hands down the boys' pants, sometimes in classrooms with other students in the room. Other times, he would expose himself and force the boys to touch his penis, with two victims recalling vividly the expression that came over Kostka's face when he was molesting them "He would raise the outer edges of his eyebrows and his tongue would be out the side of his mouth," one boy recalled.

The victims told police that Brother Kostka befriended lots of boys through a movie club he ran, in which a film would be screened at the school's theatrette on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

One victim, who was molested in 1986 in the theatrette, recalled how Kostka sat next to him and put his hand on his groin. When the boy moved away, Kostka followed, and did so about three times before finally giving up.

The boy told his parents the next day and they made an appointment to see the headmaster, Brother Terrence Heinrich. Brother Terrence told them they could either go to police or the school could handle the matter "in-house". They opted for the latter. However, Kostka taught for a further seven years.

[After being the headmaster in Canberra, Brother Terrence Heinrich moved to Marist College, Ashgrove, in Brisbane, where he was the headmaster in 1990-96. A Marist website says that Brother Heinrich later went to Cambodia to live in a mission that was "caring for disabled children in the suburbs of Phnom Penh".]

Another victim, to whom six of the admitted 11 offences relate, said Kostka abused him between 1985 and 1987 "almost daily" and sometimes in the classroom while other students were present. In turn, Kostka "showered him with kindness". On one occasion, he threatened another victim to whom another four of the offences relate with expulsion if he told anyone.

After Kostka's guilty plea on 21 February 2008, the magistrate released Kostka on bail pending sentencing proceedings in the ACT Supreme Court on a later date. While on bail, he was to live with Brother Turton in Sydney.

Parents were kept in the dark
After Brother Kostka's guilty plea in February 2008, Canberra Times journalist Victor Violante uncovered further information about the Brother Kostka affair, which was published in the newspaper on 1 March 2008.

The Canberra Times said that, after a former student reported having been abused, Kostka was told to leave the school by his superior in 1993 but parents and students were never told why.

The former Australian head of the Marist Brothers, Brother Alexis Turton, confirmed that he met an alleged victim at Canberra Airport in September 1993, prompting Brother Kostka's removal at the end of the school year.

However, it is understood that neither the school nor Marist Brothers made efforts to identify any other potential victims, and they did not refer the matter to police.

Brother Alexis told the Canberra Times: "Basically [the alleged victim] made a complaint about Brother Kostka. I spoke to Brother Kostka and after a discussion we decided that the best course of action would be for him to leave Canberra...Basically, after the discussion [with Kostka] I asked him to leave."

Students and parents were not told at the time why Kostka had been removed from the school. Instead, the 1994 college year book suggested that Kostka had accepted an invitation to transfer to Sydney, and he was praised for his invaluable contribution to the school during his 18 years of teaching.

"During the holidays last Christmas, in a belated transfer which is usual enough in religious congregations, Brother [Kostka] accepted the invitation to bring to a close his long ministry in Canberra and moved to Sydney," the entry said.

"The lateness of the transfer meant we could not pay tribute to him in the 1993 Blue and Blue [year book], so here it is one year later, but no less genuine or sincere because of that."

The alleged victim who met Brother Alexis at the airport, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Canberra Times that he had approached the school's headmaster more than a decade after the assault because of concerns that Kostka was allegedly grooming other children.

Brother Alexis, who in 2008 is the professional standards officer for the Marist Brothers in New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT, also confirmed that Kostka was not removed from the school until three months after he met the alleged victim. He said an "assessment" concluded "no-one was in any danger" if Kostka remained at the school until the end of the term.

Another alleged victim said he had reported an allegation of sexual abuse to the school in December 1993, days before Kostka was removed. On that occasion, the school again allegedly arranged for Brother Alexis to meet the boy's parents in Canberra. He assured them Kostka would never work with children again. Brother Alexis has denied any recollection of this meeting.

The admissions come on the back of allegations contained in civil and criminal court documents that various headmasters and teachers knew of allegations of sexual abuse against Kostka as early as 1979, and against other brothers and teachers at the school as early as 1970, but failed to act.

Pre-sentence hearing
Kostka appeared in the ACT Supreme Court again on 9 May 2008 for pre-sentence submissions.

At the pre-sentence hearing, Kostka pleaded guilty to 19 counts of indecently touching the six teenage boys between 1985 and 1989. This included 11 counts, relating to four boys between 1986 and 1987, to which he had pleaded guilty in February 2008. It did not include seven other charges the prosecution was forced to drop because they had allegedly happened before 1985, when a statute of limitations of one year applied in the Australian Capital Territory for such offences.

The court heard that Kostka, the youngest of 10 children, had been separated from his parents in Lismore, New South Wales, when he was 11 to attend a Marist Brothers ''juniorate'' (a secondary boarding school for boys aspiring to become brothers) in Mittagong, southern New South Wales. It was there — within the Marist Brothers culture — that Kostka became introduced to the practice of sexual abuse, the court was told.

A psychiatrist, Dr Chris Canaris, who had been treating Kostka since 2002 for what he called a "psychosexual disorder", told the court that Kostka had disclosed he had been sexually abused by an older boy while at the juniorate between the ages of 11 and 13 and also by "a member of a religious order".

When Kostka appeared in court again on 5 June 2008 for further pre-sentence submissions, the Marist Brothers' lawyer (Greg Walsh) asked for a non-custodial sentence. Walsh said that Kostka had sought treatment for his offending behaviour by at least 1993, but Marist Brothers did nothing for almost a decade.

"The Catholic Church, and in particular this order, have a lot to answer for," Walsh said.

[It was not until late 2002 that Kostka was given psychological counselling for his "psychosexual disorder".]

Kostka sentenced
Sentencing Kostka on 22 June 2008, Justice Malcolm Gray condemned the abuse as a gross breach of trust.

The judge said several character references from friends and former colleagues had to be viewed in the context of Kostka's offences.

"Such testimonials are not irrelevant to my approach but must be weighed against the gross breach of trust that you perpetrated," Justice Gray said.

"That trust which was reposed in you as a teacher of young children and as their custodian in place of their parents as well as that trust reposed in you as a representative of your religious order."

Justice Gray sentenced Kostka to a total of six years jail, with the first two years in full-time prison. The third year would be served by weekend detention, and the remaining three years were fully suspended.

Although Kostka pleaded guilty to 19 individual incidents, most of the charges were representative of years of daily abuse. Justice Gray said he had taken into consideration that the admitted charges were not isolated offences.

Civil actions against the Marist Brothers
After the conviction of Brother Kostka, a number of Kostka's ex-students initiated a civil action, through a Canberra solicitor, Jason Parkinson (of the legal firm Porters Lawyers), seeking compensation from the Marist Brothers and the school authorities for breach of the school's duty of care. Some of the ex-students in the civil action allege that Kostka was abusing them as early as the 1970s. They say that various lay teachers, as well as religious brothers, knew about what the offenders were doing to boys but did nothing about it.

The Marist Brothers indicated in 2008 that they wished to use a legal loophole to escape liability in this compensation case. On 23 June 2008, immediately after Brother Kostka Chute was jailed, a press release was issued by Brother Alexis Turton for the Marist order. Turton apologised to victims but he encouraged victims to go through the Catholic Church's private mediation process, known as Towards Healing, rather than legal action. Turton said: "What is at issue in the current [civil] actions in the ACT Supreme Court is whether it is appropriate to sue the particular legal entity named in the suit, given earlier court decisions involving other church bodies." After Turton's statement, the Marist Brothers' solicitor (Howard Harrison) confirmed to the media that the Marists planned to rely on a NSW Court of Appeal decision known as the Ellis case in a bid to avoid legal liability. The Catholic Church successfully fought the Ellis case, obtaining a judgment that priests were not agents of the church and therefore it could not be sued for their actions.

More background
After the jailing of Marist Brother Kostka Chute, the Canberra Times published an interesting feature article, giving more background about sexual abuse at Canberra's Catholic boys' schools:-

Sins of the Brothers
Canberra Times, 28 June 2008
by Victor Violante

It's 7.30 on a cold winter morning, and the first of Canberra's Marist College students are filtering in to the school. A 12-year-old boy makes his way towards the monastery, where the school's resident Brothers live.

The Brothers' residence is strictly out of bounds to all students at all times. About 20 Brothers live here at any given time in the dormitory-style accommodation. Although located on the school premises, between the secondary and primary buildings, the monastery is their home, and students are promptly ushered away if they even loiter near it.

But this boy has special permission: it's his job to wake up Brother Kostka Chute. Most people would use an alarm clock, but Brother Kostka prefers one of his Year 7s to greet him first thing in the morning. It seems unusual, staff think, but then Brother Kostka does have a special bond with the boys. There's nothing sinister, right?

It would take more than 20 years after this boy innocently knocked on Kostka's door for the truth to emerge that Kostka was a paedophile, and that he molested some of his victims almost all of them Year 7 boys who passed through his classrooms in that very dormitory where students were supposedly forbidden from attending.

Was that boy molested? How many boys were tasked with waking Kostka up during his 17 years at the school? Did the other brothers know the boy was even there?

Perhaps the most important question that remains unanswered by the school and Marist Brothers, however, is whether any staff at the school knew, or ought to have known, that Kostka was preying on boys, prior to his arrest in January this year.

The gross violation of the boys' innocence and trust would eventually cost Kostka his freedom. On Monday he was sentenced to two years' jail, followed by 12 months' weekend detention. By now, after five days behind bars, he has no doubt resigned himself to the fact that he will spend the next two years in a NSW prison for his sins.

It doesn't sound like much for what he pleaded guilty to last month: molesting six boys between 1985 and 1989, when they were aged between 12 and 16, some of them on a daily basis over a school year, amounting to a token total of 19 counts of acts of indecency. But at 76, and suffering a long list of ailments almost as long as his newly-acquired criminal record, two years in jail will take their toll.

Kostka is adjusting to life in prison, according to Marist Brothers spokesman Brother Alexis Turton, who was head of the Marist Brothers in 1993 when he flew to Canberra to meet with a victim, and then removed Kostka from the school. Turton says Kostka remains a brother in the order, and his future is a matter for consideration of the Governing Council of the Brothers.

Throughout the court proceedings numerous references were made to Kostka's requests for treatment that were not granted until 2001, when he entered a program funded by the Catholic Church to treat brothers and priests who have "psychosexual disorders". It was not clear when he first sought treatment, but a comment in a psychiatrist's report suggested it was well before December 1993, when Marist Brothers concedes it removed Kostka from the school and ordered he never work with children after an allegation was made to the highest level.

Dr Chris Canaris's report says, "I note also a recurring theme in [Kostka's] history; specifically, that he asked for help and he received none until very late in the piece. These factors, sadly, contributed substantially to his history of offending behaviour."

Kostka's trail of child abuse appears to have extended well beyond the six boys he pleaded guilty to molesting. Three civil claims have already been lodged in the ACT Supreme Court against the school, represented by the Marist Brothers Trustees, and an additional 22 are ready to be filed. Most of these relate to Kostka. Two relate to a former colleague of his, lay teacher Paul Lyons, who committed suicide in 2000 shortly after he was charged with molesting a student in 1989 at Daramalan College, in Dickson, Canberra, where he taught next (three claims relating to Lyons' time at Daramalan have already been filed). Five of the 22 claims relate to alleged victims who say they were molested by both Kostka and Lyons an unfortunate coincidence, or a coordinated, cunning scheme in which they worked together to identify the vulnerable?

Almost all of the several former colleagues of Kostka and Lyons contacted by The Canberra Times denied any knowledge of their predatory behaviour. Few had even questioned Kostka's unusually close relationship with the Year 7 students at the time. But some did. As one former teacher recalls, some staff were aware of the boy Kostka had hand-picked to be his alarm clock.

"We always thought it was a bit odd that he always had boys waiting outside his office, it was too much," the teacher, who taught at the school between 1976 (the year Kostka started) and 1987, says. He asked not to be named, as he still lives in Canberra and is involved in teaching.

"There were some students who appeared too close to him. They had open access to his office, it was odd behaviour. A few of the staff had their suspicions. I wasn't totally shocked by the news reports [of his arrest]."

Suspicions were one thing, but nothing strong enough for him to act, back then at least. In hindsight, and in the wake of greater awareness among schools and the clergy about the potential for child abuse, the former Year 9 teacher admits he would act now if he saw the same thing. It was Kostka himself who told him one morning about the Year 7 boy who had woken him up. Kostka was cursing the boy's name, half-jokingly, explaining he was late to work because the boy had been late in attending his dorm. Other staff were well aware of this habit too. "That was a conversation I'd had with staff members, we thought it wasn't right. If I'd seen something more concrete I would have said something myself."

John William Chute was born on June 13, 1932, the youngest of 10 children, along with his twin sister. He grew up in the northern NSW town of Coraki, a small farming town that sits where the Richmond and Wilson rivers meet. His father died when John Chute, as Kostka was known before he took his religious name, was nine years old. Already he was on the path towards a Catholic lifestyle, attending the local Catholic primary school. When he was about 10 or 11 he befriended a Marist brother whom he grew to admire.

At age 11-12, perhaps inspired by his Marist Brother mentor, Kostka left his mother and siblings to attend a Marist Brothers "juniorate" (a boarding school where boys were prepared to be brothers) in Mittagong, in the NSW Southern Highlands. By all accounts it was an unusually young age, even then, to attend a juniorate. Here his life was to change irreversibly...

At age 18, Kostka became a novice, and after 18 months, without any formal teaching qualifications, he was sent to his first school to teach. Over the next 24 years, before arriving in Canberra, he taught at 11 Marist Brothers schools in NSW, including Marist Primary in Queanbeyan (here he taught Paul Lyons and his brother Ray Lyons, who also taught at Marist and Daramalan, and remains a good friend of Kostka's). It's not known whether he molested any boys at these schools...

One victim, that Kostka pleaded guilty to molesting throughout 1986, when he was in Year 8, says he had also been molested by Lyons that same year. He never reported it to the school because Kostka had threatened him with expulsion if he did, and later in life he tried unsuccessfully to forget it.

"You just put it in the back of your mind for your whole life, and every now and then you get a flashback of Kostka and Lyons, and you just try to put it away where it was, buried deep in your mind."

It was only in July 2007, when a story in The Canberra Times called for Lyons' Marist victims to come forward, that he went to police. "I saw Lyons on the front page, and it was like 20 years of my life just flew back at my face, and I thought, 'Now is the time to talk about it'."

Back in 1986 Kostka taught Year 7 and Lyons Year 8. It's tempting to conclude that Kostka would feed victims to Lyons as they progressed to the next grade, but this victim says he never heard one talk about the other in that context. Looking back, though, he suspects the paedophile pair did cooperate to some degree.

"It was Kostka at the start, Lyons in the middle part of the year, and Lyons at the end again. Reading about things now it seems that they were quite close as well, they did a lot of stuff together."

The victim, now in his mid-30s, is convinced some staff and brothers at the school knew about Kostka's molesting. It was too indiscrete not to notice, and many of the students even saw him fondling fellow students in class.

"He would come up behind someone in the class and put his hand down there, and only a few students would see, but it was quite obvious. Nobody would say anything, but then at the break people would start talking about it. And I guess that's when rumours started to fly of 'Be careful of Brother Kostka, don't get caught in his office because he'll touch you up'. At the time I didn't know it was wrong, that's just how it was."

Victims say that towards Kostka's later years his abuse was more brazen and frequent. His office was a popular place to abuse the children, luring them in with the promise of warmth on a cold winter's day, or a video they could watch in the lunch break.

By the early 1990s, Kostka's molesting was "common knowledge" among most students, especially the older boys. One teacher, who does not wish to be named, says she was frequently asked by students, "Does Brother Kostka bum-f--k?"

Lyons, similarly, became more indiscrete the longer he got away with abusing boys. While several former students now allege they were molested by Lyons at Marist College during his 12 years there that ended in 1987, many more alleged victims from Daramalan have emerged. At Daramalan, Lyons allegedly ran rampant for more than a decade, luring students to his home and on shooting trips with the promise of food, alcohol and guns until his arrest, confession and suicide in late 2000.

Conspiracy theories abound about whether Marist College knew or suspected Lyons was molesting students. One of his alleged Daramalan victims suspects Marist did know, and is angry the school did nothing more than off-load him to Daramalan. He says he was molested in 1989 during what he thought was going to be a shooting trip with Lyons one weekend. After Lyons had fondled him, he took him to McDonald's and then they went back to Lyons's flat in Queanbeyan. Although an isolated incident, the wounds of the betrayal are still fresh in his mind...

Kostka's admission of guilt, and Lyons' admission to Queanbeyan police in November 2000 during a recorded interview that he had molested a 15-year-old student in 1989, are but one hurdle that has been cleared in the path towards compensation for their alleged Marist College victims. As solicitor Jason Parkinson, who is representing the alleged victims, says, it needs to be shown that the school knew or ought to have known about Kostka's and Lyons' abuse.

Parkinson's allegations go further. In the civil claims already lodged with the courts, he outlines what can be only described as a paedophile ring at the school decades of covering up child molesters, including Kostka, and of giving alleged victims and their parents who did come forward false assurances their complaints would be taken seriously.

Even without the civil claims there is already substantial material to support inferences that all was not right at Marist College in the 1970s and 1980s. Kostka was not the first Marist College brother to be convicted of molesting a student. A little-known fact is that in 1996 Brother Peter Spratt pleaded guilty in Cooma Local Court to two counts of molesting a 14-year-old boy from the school. The incidents occurred in 1979 at a Marist Brothers residence at Wategoes Beach, Byron Bay, and at a holiday centre in Jindabyne, NSW.

Spratt was placed on a $2000, two-year good-behaviour bond. It's unclear when he left the school, but he was long gone by the time he was charged.

When combined with what we know about Kostka and Lyons, there would have been three child molesters at the Canberra school working side by side in 1979.

Among the allegations in the statements of claim is that in about 1979, the mother of a child at the school complained to the headmaster that Kostka was showing pornography to students in class, taking children into his office and having them sit on his lap, and masturbating under his cassock in class. The mother asked that Kostka be removed from the school, but was allegedly told by the headmaster at the time that ''he was aware of Brother Kostka's behaviour as [she] described'', and he had informed the provincial (the head of the Marist Brothers organisation in the region) of Brother Kostka's behaviour.

Another claim is that in 1970 the parents of an alleged victim informed the school headmaster that another brother had forced their son to sit on his lap and touched the child's genitals.

The road to compensation won't be a smooth one. Parkinson would be well served by the golden bullet that enabled him to settle two civil claims a couple of years ago against Daramalan College relating to Lyons: former teachers willing to testify that they knew Lyons was behaving inappropriately, and that they had reported it to the principal without any action taken.

One such teacher, Terry O'Brien, says that he and another teacher, Peter Cuzner, told one principal that they believed Lyons's practices of taking students home was inappropriate. The principal, Father Bob Irwin, called a staff meeting and told staff that the school did not allow unauthorised extracurricular activities with students, but when Irwin left for another school the following year, it's believed Lyons reverted to his old ways, if indeed he had ever stopped.

[Broken Rites understands that Terry O'Brien (born in 1936) and Peter Cuzner were originally Marist Brothers. Terry O'brien, whose religious name was Brother Sylvester, ceased being a Brother about 1977 after 25 years.]

O'Brien says he regrets not doing more, but had no knowledge of Lyons molesting boys to justify anything more than bringing what he perceived to be unprofessional conduct to the principal's attention.

"My disappointment is that I was concerned, I passed it on and the authorities [at the school] did not act quick enough for my satisfaction," O'Brien, who retired from teaching in 1999, says. "I wish I had done something more at the time, but at the time it was not criminal, if it had been criminal I would have gone to the police directly."

The Marist College victims are crying out for staff and brothers at the school to come clean with what they know, so that they can get at least financial compensation for what they endured.

For others, it is believed to be too late, with at least five suicides of boys in the past 15 years attributed by family, friends or former classmates to suspected sex abuse by Kostka and Lyons.

Kostka Chute was not the only sexually-abusive Marist Brother whose career included time spent at Marist College Canberra. Others include:

Brother Gregory Joseph SUTTON. After offending in several Catholic schools in Australia, Sutton eventually left the Marists and is therefore now described as a "former" Marist. He fled to the United States but was captured there and was brought back to Australia to be jailed.
Brother Gregory James CARTER. After offending in Queensland, Carter was appointed as head of the junior school at Marist College, Canberra, where he worked in the early 1990s. He was jailed in 1996 for the Queensland offences.
Brother Peter Richard SPRATT. He sexually abused a Marist College Canberra boy in 1979 and was eventually convicted for this in 1996. Spratt is listed on the Broken Rites "Black Collar Crime" page, in Section A.
These three, plus Kostka Chute, are not the only sexually-abusive Marists who spent time at Marist College, Canberra. These are merely four who were brought to justice - that is, they were convicted in a criminal court. Various other Marist Brothers were child-sex offenders but escaped justice because their victims (and the victims' families) did not report these crimes to the police.
