The Pope of Rome is here in the Philippines for a 4 day visit. We see pope mania almost everywhere. The country is excited to see this man whom they believed to be a Holy Father. The pope's visit is given a theme of "Mercy and Compassion". Some believed his mission is to repair a Church that is now in the brink of destruction? Well perhaps his visit to the Visayas particularly in Rome-aldez country will be truly merciful and compassionate that he will help repair literally the whole storm devastated towns of Visayan Island most specifically in Tacloban City. If truly he will be showing mercy and compassion he should be giving donations sufficient enough to rebuild Tacloban and neighbouring towns. But I doubt it... let us wait if he will give some of  the gold and money of Roman Catholic church ... the wealth hidden in the vault of Vatican City. If he is truly God's representative here on this earth he will have Mercy and Compassion to this Roman Catholic country that is mostly poor and under nourished compared to the west where food is wasted everyday!

Perhaps it is because it is embedded in our culture.? 'May kasabihan, kung ano ang puno siya rin ang bunga.' We are numb because it has become part of us our culture and we are used to it. 'Nakasanayan na nating mga noypi?' For more than four hundred years Roman Catholicism who was brought by the Spaniards is still dominating our country's government. You can call me anti-Roman Catholic but history tells us that Romanism is a corrupt religion that should be rejected. With hundred of cases of pedophilia, human rights violations against nations and cultures, including falsification of documents together with conspiracy in acquiring land and riches of other kingdom and nations, the Philippines is just one of many of them who suffered injustice and deception from the hands of this pseudo-religion who has a great influence in the world's ruling class and mass media. I strongly believe we have been deceived and it is not too late to get out of her. Romanism is a false religion! The Bible predicts her coming destruction and His Spirit is calling us out of Babylon!!! 

The coming of Pope Francis I.. I believe will usher in another new level of deception and of course corruption designed specifically  for this country and our neighbours. It is sad that many ignore the fact that Jesuitism is an evil society who is not only devoted to secrecy and corruption but also murder of innocent people who are against Popery. This coming 15 to 19 of January 2015 we will witness another chain of events that seems harmless on the outside but spiritually it will envoke legion of demonic forces to continue bring havoc in the spirit in this land. For many the effect of his coming seems good on the surface temporarily but it is like a contagious disease that will slowly corrupt the hearts and minds of many and will make them accept a false God and Christ to achieve the ancient Luciferian plan of a Unified One World System... a resurrection of the tower of Babel. Doctrinally speaking not only against the very teachings of the Apostles but of Christ as well. Take heed and be not deceived!

A few years ago I was in the Middle East and was talking to an OFW and I cannot forget what she said to me...  "it is sometimes embarassing to be a Filipina".. the look on her face is enough and I know what she meant. It is like being in a mall and by the clothing you wear and perfume you use or by your smell many people around you can tell what is your socio-economic status and background. Most Filipinos are working in other countries because of unemployment in the Philippines, then not to mention of the low wages and standard of safety rules and benefits. We tend to immigrate because of socio-economic problem in the country even though we miss the feeling of ''feel at home'' and warm weather. 'Masaya sa Pinas pero walang pera eh.' It is better abroad because most of us are generally lacking materially speaking. 'Hindi sapat ang kinkita!'  This saying is what most poor people say. But many seems to be blind. They cannot tell religion can also bring them to a life that is miserable and wanting. We tend to ignore religion is not the cause. The truth is religion plays a major part in our culture... our culture was shaped by Romanism mainly in Luzon and Visayas. We learn from school our culture is still on the process of getting rid of colonial mentality. Are we really on the process? 'Ipinanganak akong Katoliko, mamatay akong katoliko!' This is a wrong belief and saying. But we believe this is true because this is what we hear from our parents or from others. We have been deceived and misinformed. We have been robbed of our identity and culture. Not to mention the material wealth that should belong to us like gold and land. Many of us now are landless and many foreign names like Spanish-Filipino names own vast amount of land in this nation. Si Juan ay tamad, ngunit si Nog-nog ay totoong masipag at mabuti. Sa totoo lang si Juan ay Filipino at si Nog-nog ay dugong malaya! Our ancestors fought until the last drop of their blood against the people who brought this corrupt religion to this land. We are suffering because of our false belief that is presently eating the very fabric of this nation. Our government and church are both corrupt. The Spanish friars had left, but their rotten religion is still here and sending many souls to hell. The name Philip had become a trademark on our souls... and of course on our nation. Our identity is not original but an imitation. It doesn't belong to us... it is a foreign brand! A Spanish Portuguese brand that doesn't belong here. Parang baka, may tatak na pinasuan sa pigi kung sino ang may-ari. Ganon din ang Filipino.. tatak ng Hari ng Espanya! I believe unless God and His Spirit change us we cannot do a single thing. A monergistic process must first occur before we can be changed within.. then our culture will see those who are truly in Christ. Reformed Churches are instrumental in changing this nation. If God permits, our land will prosper not in terms of material wealth... but culturally. A rich culture with good government and social class. A society with people in the government who are God fearing, honest and truly public servants. Free education for the masses, free hospitalization and health care are just signs and benefits of a good government and honest public officials. The cost of living will be affordable and poverty will disappear. Crime rate will plummet and succumb. Evil can be resisted and stopped. But looking at the world now and the state of our nation, these things seems impossible. It is impossible to those who are not in Christ.

Zwickau Prophets (1521-1522): Three craftsmen from the town of Zwickau claimed the gift of prophecy and began promulgating a mixture of Taborite and Waldesian teachings: including antipaedobaptism; denial of a professional ministry or organized religion because all godly people would be under the direct influence of the Spirit; special revelation through visions and dreams; and the imminent return of Christ. In December 1521 they came to Wittenberg to try and persuade the reformers. Melanchthon, impressed by their biblical knowledge was uncertain of what action to take. Their continued presence created great agitation, as the "Prophets" became more outspoken in their millennial views and criticisms of Luther's conservatism. Upon Luther's return in 1522, they were expelled and little is known of them after this. Their main significance was their influence upon the revolutionary Müntzer, and in the warning to us that we should not be intimidated about "quenching the Spirit" if we reject teachings of "prophets". Radical Disciples 
  Many radicals began as disciples of the major reformers. Some so-called Anabaptists had begun as disciples of Martin Luther. These included Andreas Bodenstein von Karlstadt, a biblical scholar, and Thomas Münzer, a spiritualizer. Even the iconoclastic Zwickau prophets were somewhat influenced by Luther. Karlstadt was a professor of theology at Wittenberg when Luther arrived and had granted Luther his doctorate in theology, but Karlstadt moved further and faster than Luther. Thomas Münzer took up social issues and supported the peasant revolt in 1525. Another Anabaptist, Melchior Hofmann, had been a follower of Luther. His pilgrimage had taken him from Lutheran to Zwinglian (sacramentarian) to Anabaptist to Chiliast. Menno Simons had read Luther as a Catholic priest before his conversion to Anabaptism. Were they simply impatient? Would Luther have moved as far as they had, given more time? Or were there fundamental differences which were irreconcilable?

Other Anabaptists had been disciples of Ulrich Zwingli, the reformer of Zurich, Switzerland, or had been affected by his writings. Although Zwingli had been influenced by Luther and did not reject the authority of the state, even he went too far for Luther when he advocated that what could not be found in Scripture ought to be removed from the Church. Ulrich Zwingli was a biblical humanist and therefore was more radical than the conservative Luther. Luther might even include him among the fanatics. The principle on which Luther operated was that he would retain the traditions unless the Scriptures definitively rejected them. Zwingli operated on the opposite theory. Whatever was not supported by clear and certain Scriptures should be discarded. This was the radical approach. Biblical humanists like Zwingli determined to return to the source of the faith and what was not there does not belong on the tree. Zwingli began his reform on this principle. So did the Anabaptists. This, in Luther's estimation, opened the door for fanaticism and revolution. As Bruce Shelley observes, “In a sense the rise of Anabaptism was no surprise. The dominance of the Roman Catholic Church remained unchallenged for nearly 500 years. Then, in 1517, a German priest shook the Catholic Church to its very foundations. His name was Martin Luther. Luther was not a rebel. He wasn't trying to destroy the Catholic Church or even start his own religion. All Luther was trying to do was to stop the Church from engaging in some practices that he considered unchristian.
Luther's problem was with the Church's practice of selling indulgences. An indulgence is a remission of punishment for sins. You can think of an indulgence as a 'get out of hell free' card. The church had been in the practice of granting indulgences in exchange for good works and acts of piety for centuries, ever since Pope Urban II offered indulgences to Crusaders in 1095.
Luther questioned whether the church had the authority to grant such indulgences. He believed that the only true path to salvation lay through faithfulness to Christ and his teachings, not through adherence to the ideologies and dogmas of the Catholic Church. Yet Luther probably would not have made a fuss if it weren't for the fact that these 'get out of hell free' cards weren't actually free.
Earlier that year, in 1517, Pope Leo X had made an unconventional move. Leo wanted to rebuild St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, but he didn't want to spend his own considerable wealth to do so. This is not surprising, as Leo was a member of the wealthy Medici banking family, which dominated Florence. The man was more of a banker than a priest.
Leo's solution was to begin offering indulgences in exchange for donations to the Basilica's renovation. While these donations technically counted as pious works, Luther saw them as simple payment. To Luther's eyes, the Church was essentially selling salvation. He witnessed poor peasants giving up their life savings to buy an indulgence for a dead relative, in the hope of saving their loved ones from the tortures of purgatory. All the while the Church grew ever richer.
This was too much for Luther. Luther had read the Bible, something most people of his age could not do, since the only available translations of the Bible were in Latin and Greek. Luther saw nothing in the Bible that gave the Church the right to charge people for their salvation. The church was supposed to be a spiritual sanctuary, not a marketplace.
So, Luther set about writing 95 complaints with the Church's greedy behavior. These complaints are now called the 95 Theses. On October 3, 1517, Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the Church of Wittenberg and sent copies to the higher authorities of the Catholic Church.
The posting of the 95 Theses is considered by many the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. However, it is important to remember that Luther was not trying to undermine the Church. He was just trying to get them to stop making money off the business of salvation.
Luther's 95 Theses spread across Europe like wildfire. Within two months, they were being read in cities across the continent. The next year, they were translated into German and printed on a massive scale, further fueling the controversy. Luther suddenly found himself at the center of the greatest conflict of his age. The principle of Sola Scriptura—Scripture alone—lies at the heart of the Protestant Reformation. Rejecting the pope as God's voice on earth required that there be a true and superior authority on which Christians could depend. Replacing the pope with someone else who claimed direct revelation from God would have only served to perpetuate the original problem. The scope and extent of the Reformation legacy, still felt today, is primarily due to the Reformers' unshakable commitment to God's unchanging revelation found in the pages of your Bible.

MONTANISM, FALSE PROPHETS AND FALSE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD.

Montanus, who founded the Montanist movement in 156 AD, predicted that Jesus would return during the lifetime of the group's founding members.

Heresies: Montanism

The earliest serious heresy that cropped up in Christian history, was Montanism. It appeared rather suddenly in the middle of the second century, in central Anatolia, where it remained popular for quite some time.

Montanus the Prophet

Montanism was founded by a man named Montanus, who suddenly announced that he was a prophet, speaking with the voice of the Paraclete, the “helper” that Christ had promised to send. We know little about who he was, prior to this. Ancient rumors (perhaps started by his opponents so as to discredit him) claimed that he had been a priest of the Anatolian godman, Attis. If this were the case, then he would have been well-schooled in the “mystery religions” of the time, and may have entered Christianity with Gnostic leanings.
Whatever his origin, Montanus managed to acquire a sizable following, going from town to town, spreading his “prophecies” to all who would listen. Almost in the manner of Jesus himself, he gathered a small cadre of disciples.

The Teachings of Montanus

We have no direct record of Montanus’s teachings, either from him or one of his followers. Any such records have long since been destroyed. All we can go on, is what others said about it. However, this is enough to give us a good picture of what Montanism entailed.
Montanus taught that, ultimately, any believer at all, could become a “prophet” as he was, for Christ had promised the Paraclete or Holy Spirit to all believers. Next, he taught that all believers are equal, men as well as women. Two of his most trusted disciples, who became prophets in their own right, were women!

Montanist worship services included prophetic declarations, and could be presided over by women as well as men. A Spartan lifestyle was encouraged, one which minimized entanglements with the physical world (though Montanists were not ascetics or hermits). There were no clergy in Montanism — although only senior members taught doctrine to junior members.

One can see there is some overlap between Gnosticism and Montanism, however, in its time, Montanism was seen as something rather distinct; additionally, Gnosticism generally did not rely on “prophets” making declarations — something which was absolutely central to Montanism.

Montanism & the Church

When Montanus came on the scene, the Church as an organization was still in its infancy, and unable to do anything about it. Besides, as long as it remained a central Anatolian phenomenon, it was hardly worth worrying about.
Montanism branched out, though, with communities popping up in large eastern cities, and as far away as north Africa. A number of Syrian and Anatolian bishops met and denounced it, several times, on the grounds that Montanists allowed women to speak in church (something that the Pauline epistles prohibited). With little political or economic clout, though, they couldn’t really do much more.

So the mainstream Church began a campaign of propaganda. Christian cholars wrote tracts explaining in great detail the doctrinal errors of Montanism. Sermons were preached against it. Christians with Montanist sympathies were harassed or ostracized.

Perhaps the most notable opponent of Montanism, was the Church Father, Tertullian. He wrote extensively against the movement, especially since there were Montanists in his own backyard of Carthage. Oddly, however, he joined that very same Montanist community! Ultimately, he found the personal involvement of Montanism to be compelling.

Montanism Dies

After the great Councils of the early- to mid-4th century, the mainstream Church’s campagin against Montanism became more heated. With some political clout, they were able to have Montanist churches razed, and Montanists themselves driven from their homes.
After a brief attempt at resisting, the late 4th century Montanists went into hiding. They kept their services secret, attending mainstream Churches so as to keep up a “veneer of respectability.” But over the years, this was hard to keep up, and the movement withered slowly over two more centuries. It died out, last, where it had begun.

Montanism’s “Great Flaw”

The fundamental flaw of Montanism, which it shared with Gnosticism as well as many other heretical movements, was its rejection of the notion of clergy. Montanus taught “the Priesthood of the People,” and this was a threat to the existing Church clergy. Much of the history of Christianity has been determined by this repetitive struggle between the clergy of the Church and those who would do away with it. (Source: Earlychristianhistory.info )

The founder Joseph Smith (born 1830) alleged that God the Father and Jesus Christ visited him at age 14 and told him that all the churches were wrong. During 1835-44 Smith and Taylor publically denied the practice of polygamy yet practiced in private. Buddhism

The problems with Buddhism are significant:

(1) Buddhist scriptures that are attributed to its founder Siddhartha Gautama were written approximately 400 years after his (Buddha’s) death. The fact that Buddhism had split into opposing sects at the time of writing means there is no confirmation to say these were actually the words of Gautama.

(2) The Buddhist teachings are attributable to one man so if he’s wrong then the whole religion is wrong. There are no independent witnesses to the revelation. The Book of Mormon suffers the same problem.

(3) There are over 200 sects across the world so which one is correct. The following are the main four:

a)      Pure Land Buddhism . This became popular in China and Japan and focused on regional Buddhas. In India we have Amitabha. In China we have Omito Fu and in Japan we have Amida. Salvation consists of placing your faith in your Buddha and chanting his name.

b)      Zen Buddhism This form is almost the exact opposite of the above. Salvation can only be achieved through yourself. Deep mediation is the way to nirvana.. Serious students follow a Zen Master.

c)      Nichiren Buddhism Nichiren (1222 to 1282) based this type on the Sutra of the Lotus of Truth

d)     Tibetan Buddhism Originates in the seventh century in Tibet. Also known as Lamaism because the priests of this religion / sect are called lamas. The most famous is the Dali Lama who is worshipped as a “holy man” and an incarnation of Bodhisattva. Followers use prayer wheels, mills, rituals and secret formulas.

(4) Buddhism does not offer salvation to its followers. Biblical doctrines of a loving God, a sinful man, sin, salvation or the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a pathway to God and not present as part of their belief system. Gautama’s last words that hardly provides a Buddhist believer with any confidence are “Buddhas do but point the way. Work out your own salvation with diligence.”

Other strange beliefs include reincarnation that means a death and rebirth cycle of improvement until as a practicing Buddhist you finally reach nirvana. Nirvana is believed to be a permanent state beyond death, a state of permanent happiness. How long does it take to reach this Nirvana or will I ever reach Nirvana? Who knows? Has Buddha come back to earth to proclaim he has reached Nirvana? Sadly this has not happened.

Possibly a religion with well meaning and well intentioned followers but sadly just another deception of the Devil.

Is an ancient Chinese exercise and meditation practice that espouses the principles of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance. Falun Gong has attracted 100 million practitioners in seven years. It is widely reported that there has been persecution of members of Falon Gong by the Chinese Government. There is now strong evidence to suggest Falun Gong practitioners in China are being systematically murdered by the Chinese Government for their body parts to service China's lucrative organ trade. Human Rights Lawyer David Matas stated in Ottawa on 5 July 2006 what is happening in China is "a new form of evil".

1960: Piazzi Smyth, a past astronomer royal of Scotland, wrote a book circa 1860 titled "Our Inheritance in the Great Pyramid." It was responsible for spreading the belief in pyramidology throughout the world. This is the belief that secrets are hidden in the dimensions of the great pyramids. He concluded from his research that the millennium would start before the end of 1960.

1970's: The late Moses David (formerly David Berg) was the founder of the Christian religious group, The Children of God. He predicted that a comet would hit the earth, probably in the mid 1970's and destroy all life in the United States.

1984 to 1999: In 1983, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, Guru of the Rajneesh movement predicted massive destruction on earth, including natural disasters and man-made catastrophes. Floods larger than any since Noah, extreme earthquakes, very destructive volcano eruptions, nuclear wars etc. will be experienced. Tokyo, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Bombay will all disappear.

1986: Moses David of The Children of God faith group predicted that the Battle of Armageddon would take place in 1986. Russia would defeat Israel and the United States. A worldwide Communist dictatorship would be established. In 1993, Christ would return to earth.

Early 1990's: In 1992, David Koresh of the Branch Davidian group in Waco Texas changed the name of their commune from Mt. Carmel to Ranch Apocalypse, because of his belief that the final all-encompassing battle of Armageddon mentioned in the Bible would start at the Branch Davidian compound. They had calculated that the end would occur in 1995. After a 51-day standoff, on 1993-APR-10, 76 members died as a result of a deliberately set fire.

Sometime in 1996: The book "The Return of Jupiter: End of the world in the light of the Bible" Dorrance Publishing, Pittsburgh PA predicted a disaster starting in the Pacific Ocean:

"A terrible earthquake is going to break the oceanic earth crust under the Pacific Ocean by the year 1996 AD

1996-OCT-23: Since 1658, many Christians have accepted the calculations of James Ussher, an Irish archbishop, who estimated that the first day of creation occurred on 4004-OCT-23 BCE. This would make the time interval between the creation of the world and a common estimate of the birth of Christ to be precisely 4000 years. Some people believe that Ussher fudged the data to make it come out neatly. He also estimated that the end of the world would occur exactly 6000 years later, in the fall of 1996.

1997-MAR-8: The Vortex of the Star of David religious sect of Luskville, Quebec was quoted (2) as predicting the end of the world on Saturday, MAR-8. A father, Jean Leon Marcoux, was interviewed; he was worried because his children will be visiting their mother at the sect's commune on that weekend. He approached the Quebec police but was unable to get them to take any action. A spokesperson for the sect stated that they do not have a doomsday scenario.

1997-APR-10: Dan Millar, of Surrey, BC, Canada and Bob Wadsworth of the Biblical Astronomy newsletter are two religious researchers. They are following the age-old tradition of looking for signs in the heavens for the arrival of the Antichrist, return of Christ, etc. Ancient prophecies told of heavenly events and even a cross in the sky in advance of momentous developments. Millar and Wadsworth have predicted the arrival of the Antichrist on APR-10. Dan suggested that we watch news from the Vatican and from Jerusalem on that day, because he expects some sort of coup by the Antichrist. He is expected to come to power in the Vatican as Pope Peter II.

One heavenly indicator is the intersection by two comets of the star Algol in the constellation Perseus. Comets Hyakutake and Hale-Bopp intersected the star on the same date (APR-11) on two adjacent years (Hyakutake in 1996 and Hale-Bopp in 1997). Plotting the two comets' trajectories over the period APR-1 to APR-30 on the two years forms an almost perfect cross. They intersect between the eyes of the Medusa head that Perseus is holding in his left hand. "Algol" means "Demon Star" in Arabic. The head is known as Rosh Satan (the head of Satan) in Hebrew. 1997-OCT-20 A Jewish group, called theTemple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement were expected to attempt to place the cornerstone of a new temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This is a small piece of real estate that is the most sacred spot in the world to Jews, and one of the most sacred to Muslims. The Rapture Ready home page has predicted that the "Tribulation" would be triggered by that event. Previous attempts had failed either because of riots, or police action. There was one report that they were going to try to airlift the stone by helicopter this time. 1997-1999 Russian scientist Vladimir Sobolyovhas of the Rerikh Academy has analyzed prophesies made by Russian saints, by Nostradamus etc. (6) He announced his conclusions in1997-SEP: that the earth's axis will suddenly tilt about 30 degrees sometime during the next two years. This will submerge the Scandinavian countries and Britain under water, in what is termed the Armageddon Flood. Siberia will be spared. He expects that aliens will intervene and lead the world into the fourth dimension. Right now, these aliens are on earth, but in hiding. Sometime in 1998: Centro is a very active religious organization, largely centered in the Philippines. They predict that the world will come to an end in 1998. They recommend that their followers retreat to safe places.

Sometime in 1998: The famous psychic Edgar Cayce predicted that a secret, underground chamber would be discovered between the paws of the Great Sphinx. Inside, there will be documents revealing the history of Atlantis. This revelation will trigger the Second Coming of Christ. 1998-FEB-26: Edgar Casey predicted that the earth would have a new pole during the winter of 1997-1998. 1998-MAR-31: About 150 followers of a Taiwanese Christian-Buddhist spiritual sect have moved into Garland TX (a suburb in northern Dallas) to await God's arrival. On MAR-25, God is expected to broadcast a commercial on Channel 18 in Garland. He will then be reincarnated into a man on MAR-31 at 10:00 AM, local time. They expect to draw a crowd of about one million who want to be touched by God. Their leader, Hoh-Ming Chen, selected Garland because it sounds like "God land". News reports from Taiwan indicated that the group plans to commit mass suicide if God does not appear. These appear to be unfounded.

1998-JUL-5 The Church of the Subgenius predicts that on "X Day", the end of the world will occur. At that time, "the Men from Planet X, or XISTS, will arrive on Earth, close a deal with "Bob," rupture the card-carrying Ordained SubGenii up to the Escape Vessels of the Sex Goddesses, and destroy the remaining population of Earth, VERY VERY SLOWLY." 1998-OCT The House of Yahweh, Abilene (™) predicts that an end-of-world scenario will start during 1998-OCT. By mid-2001, they predict that 80% of the world's population will have been killed as a result of nuclear warfare.

They have identified a nine-year old boy as the "Jesus of the East", a reincarnation of Jesus Christ. They believe that if they can link him up with the "Jesus of the West" then 100 million lives will be spared. The second Jesus is supposed to live in Vancouver BC, look like Abraham Lincoln, and have been born in late 1969. Their search was unsuccessful.

1999-JAN: According to the 1997-JUN-24 issue of Sun Magazine Pope John XXIII predicted in 1962 that visitors from outer space will arrive in chariots of flaming steel and will share their advanced knowledge with humanity. Our life span will be increased to 150 years or longer. Most diseases will be wiped out.

1999-AUG-6: According to the latest interpretation of Biblical prophecy by the Branch Davidian sect, 5 months of major torment will begin as the sixth seal is fulfilled.

1999-AUG-11: According to the 1997-MAY-27 issue of Sun Magazine, the Anti-Christ is alive today and living in the Middle East. 2000-JAN-1: According to the 1997-JUN-24 issue of Sun Magazine Pope John XXIII predicted in 1961 that Doomsday will begin with the detonation of an atomic bomb in a major European city by a Libyan terrorist group. This will trigger a massive six-month war that will cause the deaths of millions of people.

2000-JAN-1: William Cooper, head of a militia group in St. John's AZ, predicted that on this date the secret chambers of the Pyramid at Giza will be opened. Its secrets will be revealed and Satan will become a public figure. The American militia will engage in a massive war at this time. This, and the previous prediction, are the only two that we have been able to find which agree on the same day. Of course, it is an obvious date to select, because most people believe that the next millennium begins then. It doesn't; it starts one year later on 2001-JAN-1.

2000-JAN-11: According to Weekly World News of 1997-NOV-18, the CIA has caught a space alien who had crash-landed on JUN-20 in a New Mexico desert. He is from a species that is considerably more developed, both mentally and spiritually, than mankind. He is only survivor of the destruction of his world - a planet some 200 light years from Earth. He reports that God is "furious with His creations everywhere." Apparently none of the species that he created turned out at all well. So, god is systematically working his way across the galaxies, setting fires to the planets and exploding them one by one. Earth will be next!

2000-SEP-21: Dan Millar, mentioned above, estimates this date as that of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Four events happen on that day, a Thursday. The sidereal day is reset. It is also the Jewish New Year, using the Canaanite calendar that was in use within ancient Israel prior to the Babylonian Captivity. It is the time of the Jewish "Feast of Jubilees" according to a message given by the Virgin Mary to Father Stefan Gobbi. This feast occurs only once every fifty years. This date is also the Autumn Equinox.

2000-MAY-31: The Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in front of Taurus and the coming back of the Star of Bethlehem like 7.B.C. Some people expect a supernatural event comparable to the birth of Jesus.

2000-DEC-25: According to the 1997-JUN-24 issue of Sun Magazine Pope John XXIII predicted in 1962 that Christ would appear in the sky over New York City. He will announce the creation of a 1000-year paradise, to be proceeded by six months of great sorrow.

2001-JAN-31: Sun Magazine reported in its 1997-OCT-14 issue that Noah's Ark has been discovered intact in undamaged form on a slope near Mount Ararat in Turkey. Inside were a group of 6 copper-gold-silver scrolls, each 12" square. Scroll 2 reveals that the sun will superheat the earth, melting both polar ice caps, and creating a world-wide flood. Scroll 3 reveals that Doomsday is set for 2001-JAN-31. Good people who repent of their sins will be saved; cruel tyrants will be cast into the burning fires of Hell.

2001 Jack Van Impe Ministries sponsors the largest Evangelical Christian program devoted to end-time prophecy. In his home page, he discusses his book "On the Edge of Eternity" in which he predicts that the year 2001 will "usher in international chaos such as we've never seen in our history." He predicts that in 2001, and the years following, the world will experience "drought, war, malaria, and hunger afflicting entire populations throughout the [African] continent...By the year 2001, there will be global chaos." Islam will become much larger than Christianity. (That would take a sudden growth spurt; Islam is currently followed by 19% of the world's population vs 33% for Christianity). A one-world church will emerge; it will be "controlled by demonic hosts." Temple rituals (presumably including animal sacrifice) will resume in Israel.

Circa 2001: Charles Spiegel, a retired psychology professor, preaches from a small town near San Diego CA that the ancient land of Atlantis will emerge from the Caribbean circa 2001 CE. Shortly thereafter, 1000 extra-terrestrials from "Myton" in 33 spaceships will land there and bring new knowledge to humanity.

Late 2004: Arnie Stanton noted on 1997-SEP-16 that that evening was the fourth Jewish festival since 1996-APR-3 on which a lunar eclipse occurred. (7) He quotes Luke 21:25-26 which mentions "signs in the sun, in the moon and in the stars and on the earth distress of nations" He believes that "these recent lunar eclipses are the last known astronomical signs that will preceed a 7 year (360 day/year) countdown to Armageddon/Christ's return to the Earth." He expects that Christ's return will occur within a few months of 2004-SEP-29 when Asteroid Toutatis will make a very close approach to the Earth - perhaps even a collision!

2012: Michael Drosnin, author of "The Bible Code," found a hidden message in the Pentateuch (the first five books in the Bible) that predicts that a comet will crash into the earth in 2012 and annihilate all life.

2012-DEC-22: The Mayan calendar has many divisions of time: months of 20 days, years of 360 days, katun of 7200 days and a baktun of 144,000 days. Their calendar started on 3114-AUG-13 BCE with the birth of Venus. They expected the world to last for exactly 13 baktun cycles. They anticipated the end of the world near the Winter Solstice of 2012. (3)

2016 An article in Weekly World News describes a find by a Professor Lloyd Cunningdale of Salt Lake City who was excavating with his students at the site of the famous Donner party disaster of 1847. The latter were a group of settlers bound for California who became trapped by snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Cunningdale and students have found a time capsule left by the settlers which contains many predictions for the future. They predict that nations will abandon traditional methods of conflict and resort to the use of biological warfare. In 2016, one such disease will spread and kill all of the humans on the planet. (4)

2047-SEP-14: According to The Church of !BLAIR!, the human race will probably be terminated at 3:28 AM (Soho, England time). The church teaches, with tongue firmly in cheek, that if the human race does not discard their plastic conformity, then the Gods will withdraw their protection. The Gods don't want us to worship them; they don't want sacrifices or even offerings. They just want us to rid itself of our excessive "Normalcy". At that point, Astro-Lemurs (extra-terrestrials similar in shape to lemurs, but with rainbow colored bodies) will attack the entire human race and beat them to death with gigantic burritos. You have been warned. ;-)
